We know that over 700 000 Namibian families live in shacks. Initiatives such as the Shack Dwellers Federation supported by the three-way partnership of the Pupkewitz Foundation, Ohorongo Cement and FNB have already built over 250 houses for affected families. Now, Pupkewitz Megabuild and team would like to reach out and share easy and affordable Do-It-Yourself Tips with shack dwellers for their homes. And we are excited to introduce the first season of Pimp my Shack – a Pupkewitz Megabuild Community Initiative.

The objective of Pimp my Shack is to showcase how shacks can be renovated and styled the Do-It-Yourself, DIY, way. Easy enough for families to copy and do themselves. With wise and affordable spending tips that add additional long-lasting value. DIY is a growing trend and in 2020 more families are investing in a comfortable and safe home.

The Mini TV Series of Pimp My Shack is being launched in November 2020, showcasing how three different shacks can be pimped to achieve a comfortable home. Our experts from Orange Interiors Designs will share their advice and craftsmanship for all to apply at their home. We wish to inspire and enable all viewers with tips and tricks to pimp their home with easy and affordable solutions. This way more Namibians can be inspired to uplift their daily life.

First of its kind TV series in Namibia

Pimp My Shack is a first of its kind TV series in Namibia:

• Competition was open 18 September – 2 October 2020, Windhoek area only

• All Episodes of Season 1 is being aired on Social Media & NBC TV during November 2020

Three (3) winners from Windhoek was selected to win a shack renovation to the value of N$30 000 each.

The Winners

The season 1 winners were selected and announced on 9 of October 2020. The three winners are:
