The BMW R 12 is a relaxed cruiser built for riders who want to enjoy the road at their own pace. With its classic design, low seat height and iconic boxer engine, the R 12 brings together effortless cruising, modern technology and unmistakable BMW Motorrad character.

The R 12 is all about a laid-back riding experience. Its classic cruiser flyline, teardrop-shaped steel tank, solo seat and distinctive round instrument create an unmistakable look, while the 19-inch front wheel and 16-inch rear wheel complete its relaxed cruiser stance.

Available in Blackstorm Metallic, Aventurin Red Metallic and Option 719 Thorium, the R 12 offers a choice of distinctive finishes. Its modular tubular spaceframe also provides the freedom to personalise the tank and seat area with accessories such as drag bar handlebars and custom rear-end trim.

Boxer power, relaxed performance

The R 12's boxer engine produces 95 hp and is designed to deliver strong torque and smooth acceleration at low revs. With ROLL and ROCK riding modes, you can choose between a balanced cruiser experience and a more dynamic ride through the bends.

Comfort made easy

With a 754 mm seat height and 227 kg road-ready kerb weight, the R 12 is designed around a relaxed riding position. ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control provide added riding confidence, while features such as Keyless Ride and optional ConnectedRide Control add to the everyday experience.

The R 12 is also available in an A2-compliant variant producing 35 kW (48 hp), making it an option for riders with an A2 driving licence.
