The new Tiguan shows what it means to keep reinventing oneself. As its progressive design clearly illustrates. From the powerful proportions to the dynamic front with its precise lines to the pronounced shoulders, the expressive silhouette further emphasises its strengths: innovative power, sovereignty and uncompromising functionality.
Its exceptional stylishness is literally etched on the face of the new Tiguan R-Line with the R-Line “Black Style” package. The radiator grille bears the fine R-Line logo in two colours. While the outer strips are chrome, the two inner strips are in high-gloss black. The black mirror covers and window border strips, along with the 90% tinted rear side and back windows, also project this understated class. These are matched with “Suzuka” 20" alloy wheels in black with a high-sheen surface. The impressive appearance is complete.
The generous interior of the new Tiguan is a space for forward-thinkers. With the intuitive controls of the driver-oriented cockpit you can now concentrate completely on the essentials. For example, the multifunction steering wheel in leather. Or the Digital Cockpit Pro with its 26 cm (10.25 inch) TFT colour display available to you as standard with the Tiguan R-Line. The Life specification package provides you and your front passenger with especially luxurious comfort seats. The LED interior lighting in the front and rear and the ambient lighting* create a cosy atmosphere of the highest quality.

The Tiguan shines in full splendor. Also thanks to the LED tail light clusters and the optional IQ.LIGHT - LED matrix headlights. The Tiguan R-Line comes with cornering lights which are complemented with the dynamic Light Assist and new taillights. Thus, depending on the driving situation, individual LED segments are specifically switched on or off for the light distribution. This ensures that not only you have a relaxing drive but also everyone in front of you or in the oncoming traffic. Another spectacular feature is the integrated dynamic turn signal that shows the direction with a fluid light movement.
From now on you’ll see your Tiguan in a new light every day, as you gently illuminate the vehicle interior in 30 colours. Whether with a cooler or warmer colour climate, in the brightly-lit city or on a dark road at night, depending on the occasion you create a different, suitable atmosphere for you and your passengers. Ambient lighting is part of the standard equipment for Tiguan R-Line and optional on Tiguan Life.

The optional Emergency Assist* intervenes in a medical emergency when it detects that the driver is no longer active, and attempts to reactivate him.** If this is not successful, it brings the vehicle to a controlled standstill within the limits of the system and can thus also possibly prevent an accident.

Thanks to its Front Assist emergency braking assistant with Pedestrian Monitoring, your Tiguan can help reduce the severity of the accident or, ideally, avoid the accident in the event of a collision threat.* It can detect pedestrians and vehicles on the road and warn the driver in time. If the driver does not react the system can initiate emergency braking.*

As you embark on the journey ahead, a slight distraction is only human. Thankfully, the new Tiguan Life and R-Line come with the option of a system camera that recognizes visible lane markings and uses a special algorithm to determine the vehicle’s position in the lane. If your Tiguan crosses a lane marking without you using a turn signal, the system provides a visual signal in the instrument cluster, asking you to take over, so you can stay in your lane no matter what.
Sometimes you need a second pair of eyes to fit into those tight parking spaces. That’s why the new Tiguan Life and R-Line come with the option of Area View/Rear View and Park Assist. Area View is a camera-based ambient monitoring system that offers a 360-degree view of the immediate surroundings of the Volkswagen via the infotainment. The Rear View Camera Allows semi-automatic manoeuvring into any parking space parallel or at right angles to the road.
In addition, the system facilitates manoeuvres out of parallel parking spaces. In the case of parking spaces at right angles. Volkswagens with Park Assist steer fully automatically when parking. The driver only needs to operate the accelerator and brakes. Within the technical limits of the system, an emergency braking system also prevents parking damage.
When driving, do you want to just keep your eye on the speed and rpm displays? Or do you want more driving data and assist systems? Or the navigation map? Or the name of the song you’re listening to? Or a selection of the above? The choice is literally in your hands. Using the multifunction steering wheel, you simply configure your high-resolution display yourself. Just the way you like it. Digital Cockpit Pro is part of the standard equipment of Tiguan R-Line and is also available as an option for Tiguan Life.

Your passengers prefer it cooler but you like it warm? The three-zone control enables the temperatures on the driver side, front passenger side and rear seats to be set independently of each other. Starting from Tiguan LIFE, you can very conveniently regulate the intuitive, touch-operated Climatronic air conditioning system within your field of vision. The new Climatronic air conditioning system is capable of even more: The ventilation speed might be reduced automatically depending on the driving speed and other parameters in order to reduce climatization noise. The activated carbon filter keeps unwanted passengers such as pollen, fungal spores, fine dust and other allergens out. And when the windscreen washer is activated or the vehicle goes into reverse gear, the system switches to air-recirculation mode automatically ensuring an all-around, comfortable microclimate.
